Denmark Itinerary 3 Days

3 Days in Denmark - Perfect 72 Hours Guide

Denmark is a romantic old timber milling town located on Wilson Inlet in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. Thanks to its abundant natural beauty, this city looks like something straight out of a postcard. There are tall green trees, sandy beaches, and rolling hills while the town itself sits astride the Denmark River.

With 3 days in hands, there is so much you can explore in and around the town. This 3D/2N Denmark itinerary will help you do just that. While we have reserved day 1 for exploring the town, the next two days will take you to the nearby areas. You can also shuffle the itinerary as per your pursuit.

What to see in 3 days in Denmark?

Day 1: Denmark

Start our day by touring the city. Denmark is relaxed, and the people here are friendly. You will have many walks and trails all around Denmark like the Bibbulmum Track and the Mokare Heritage Trail, and you can embark on either of the two. After you have oriented yourself to the city, head to the Strickland Street for a hearty meal. After lunch, you can stroll around the area.

In the afternoon, visit the Denmark Maze. Kids will especially love it here. Wander through the bush maze where your only aim is to find the center. Later in the evening, drive across the beautiful highway to reach the Wilson Inlet. Known as Koorabup or "The Place of the Black Swan," this place is a haven for bird-lovers. Be back in town for dinner, and do not forget to sip on that glass of wine before you call it a day, after all, you are in Australia’s wine capital.

Day 2: Day trip to Albany

On day 2, visit the town of Albany. Located 57 kilometers to the east of Denmark, a drive down to Albany would be an equally stunning one. Albany is the place where the first ever European settlers set foot. And this is apparent, thanks to its 50-odd heritage buildings. Take a self-guided tour through the city along the Amity Trail. Visit places like Discovery Bay’s Historic Whaling Station and National Anzac Centre. After lunch, head out of the city to visit the Torndirrup National Park. Considered one of the most diverse national parks along the Rainbow Coast, this park has towering cliffs, white sandy beaches, and amazing trails. If you are lucky enough, you can also spot whales here.

Drive back to Denmark in the evening and visit the Bartholomews Meadery for some good old honey and ice cream.

Day 3: Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk & William Bay National Park

Today we travel to the west of Denmark. First stop – Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk. This trail, 40 meters above the forest, will treat you to some of the best views of Western Australia’s 400-year-old tingle tree giants. After a brief stop, make way to the William Bay National Park. Here you can swim or snorkel in of nature’s best swimming pools – the Greens Pool. Spend a few moments at one of its windswept beaches before heading back to Denmark. On your way back, stop at one of the cellar doors and gourmet produce stores. At the night, take a table at one of the city’s best restaurants – The Lake House Restaurant.
