Cameron Highlands experiences tropical highland climate, unlike most other places in Malaysia that are prone to tropical rainforest climate. An average temperature of 18 degrees Celsius is observed through the year. Nevertheless, like rest of Malaysia, two distinct seasons – wet and dry exist in Cameron Highlands. Best time to visit Cameron Highlands is generally December to February end.

• Dry season: January to April and June to October are the dry months in Cameron Highlands. June is the driest month in Cameron Highlands. It can get really hot during this time, so make sure you are well hydrated and have the sunny day essentials of sunscreen, sunglasses and the likes. This is when most of the schools and colleges in Malaysia have holidays, thus many resort to Cameron Highlands, as the ultimate tourist destination! So, if you are too fond of crowd and traffic jams, avoid coming here during this season.
• Wet season: Indeed, it rains a lot in these verdant highlands. Usually, the months of April, May, October and November are the wettest months. October experiences the most amount of rainfall in Cameron Highlands. The averages highest and average lowest temperature is around 21 degrees Celsius and 14 degrees Celsius respectively. However, this is the best time to visit Cameron Highlands, given the absence of crowds and a cooler climate.
