Probably one of the most beautiful parks in Manila and in the Philippines, Paco Park is a national park and cemetery located in the center of Manila city.  The park was originally meant to be a cemetery for wealthy Spanish families during the 1800s. It was designed by the talented Nicolas Ruiz who made it a verdant landscape thriving with old trees, bushes and lawns. It was converted into a national park in 1966.

It was here that Dr. Jose P. Rizal was buried by the Spaniards after his execution in Luneta. Paco Park is also the final resting place of Mario Gomez, Jose Burgos and Jacinto Zamora, three priests that were executed by the Spanish in 1872 for their participation in an uprising against Spain.

Chirpy birds, green havens and gurgling fountains beckon visitors to this beautiful park that is truly a slice of heaven.
