Located in Intramunos and designated by UNESCO as a world heritage site, the San Agustin church is a stunning piece of art that has survived all the ordeals that this historic district has seen over centuries. The church was constructed in the sixteenth century by the Spanish. The architecture of the church is modelled over the magnificent Augustinian temples all over the world. The interiors are breathtakingly pretty , decorated with stained glass and catholic symbols. The ceiling is especially noteworthy because of its rosettes and sunken panels that appear to be three dimensional carvings.  A brilliant example of Baroque and Romanesque designs, the San Agustin is truly a must visit when in Manila.
