Established in 1974, the Lok Virsa Heritage Museum is in Islamabad, and aims to exhibit the essence of the country’s culture. Titled as the best cultural museum of Pakistan, the museum holds artefacts from paintings to textile work. It also boasts of housing one of the largest displays of embroidered costumes and jewelry. Woodwork, metalwork, ivory and bone work, block printing, statues, pottery, music as well as pictures are displayed here. Traditional architectural techniques like mirror work, fresco, mosaic, tile, stucco and marble inlay can also be observed here.
